For the price of this toilet I expected it to be fully reliable. Instead it started acting up after the first year but I stupidly ignored it and just adjusted a few things to stop if from constantly flushing. By the second year it was self-flushing every month or so. I replaced the batteries and the problem went away for a bit. It would show up every 6 months or so. Suddenly, in year 3 - right outside of warranty - it's now doing it EVERY SINGLE DAY. Even setting it to NOT auto flush causes it to flush. How is that even possible?? 

Kohler needs to recall this over priced piece of junk or offer refunds. This product is simply defective and Kohler knows it!

Defective and Kohler won't stand behind it

I’m not the type of person who would usually leave a review , or the type of person who would shell out this type of cash on a toilet, but here we are.  

Couldn’t recommend this enough. I’m wondering how many more of these I can convince my wife to let me buy/my bank account will allow for.

One of the best purchases I’ve ever made

We like this toilet. The aesthetic, functionality, and automation are really great. Most recently, however, the bidet stopped working. I believe something must have broken near the base of the sprayer, because there is water that mists out from the base, getting you rear wet when sitting. It seems to be quite challenging to find a plumber who knows anything about the product to repair it, so at the moment I have a very expensive “regular” toilet.

Great product, but how do you get it serviced?

I bought the product about 5 months ago. The auto open stopped working about a month in, I’ve tried to reprogram it to work but it just doesn’t work. Also the programming functionality is like programming a calculator from the 80’s. Hold this button, wait for a short beep and three light blinks and then hold some other button for a long beep and two blinks. It’s insane, it has a led remote so why not have a settings panel. Smh for the money just buy a Japanese one with decent programming.

I have had the Kohler Karang now for 6 months and every time I use it I honestly say "how in the world did I live without this!!" Incredible in every possible way. I just love all the features and am in the process of replacing the other 2 toilets in my house with Kohler Smart toilets.

So totally worth it!

I own three Bidets. A Kohler Karing 2.0, Kohler Jaro, and Toto bidet.

The Kohler's are new, about Two months old. Never have a problem with the Jaro. Never had a problem with my toto and it's old.

The Karing....keeps acting weird. Sometimes flushing multiple times for no reason. And every few days it's stops flushing. The button stops responding on the remote and the toilet....and beeps one time 

A power reset fixes it for a few days ...then again.

This should not be happening on a brand new premium toilet. It's embarrassing to me. I thought I was upgrading from sold toto to this. Seriously??

Beautiful toilet but flawed...need help

Installed fairly easily.  Will only flush when I unplug it and plug it back in, then it flushes multiple times and then never again.  Calling Kohler in the morning.  Seems like the reviews on this are accurate.  I have a Kohler Jaro and it works fine, this fancier one - not so much.  Too many people complain about this not working to risk all the work to put it in have have it not work.  I would avoid this.

Cool idea - does not work

I recently upgraded to the Kohler Karing Elongated Smart Toilet. Honestly, I had no idea a toilet could be this impressive! The simple, modern design fits perfectly in my home.

The bidet feature is a luxury I didn’t even know I was missing. I love that the seat is heated and you can adjust the temperature—a win for me, especially in the winter when my bathroom feels like an icebox. Pretty much everything can be customized to your liking using the touchscreen remote: water pressure, wand position, water temperature, etc. I had the remote mounted on the wall and it makes everything feel extra high-tech, like the Jetsons!

One of my favorite features is the automatic lid that opens when you enter the bathroom. Once you’re seated, the bowl mists lightly to help keep things clean before flushing. This equates to less cleaning in the long run. This toilet flushes automatically when you stand up but you also have the option to flush using the buttons on the side or the remote if you prefer. The flush is strong/loud but I think it speaks to the cleanliness and it doesn’t bother me.

The built in night light is a nice touch if you have kids who might wander into the bathroom in the middle of the night.

I definitely recommend hiring a pro for the installation. I needed an extra GFCI outlet installed for it and the installation itself was more than your average DIY project. 

Overall, this is bathroom luxury. I highly recommend if you want to make your bathroom feel like a spa!

High tech comfort and futuristic Jetsons vibes!

I never thought I’d rave about a toilet, but this smart toilet is the most beautiful thing! It’s sleek and sturdy. The features are unmatched with the settings ranging from a heated seat to a deodorizer and toliet cleaner. I mean could you ask for more than that? It hooks up to water and electrical so you will need to make sure you have access to that prior to purchasing. You won’t regret buying this top notch product though. It’s world class!  This toliet really does have it all from the automatic lid, bidet settings. The air dryer and deodorizer keep everything feeling fresh, and the night light is perfect for late-night trips without waking everyone up.

If you’re on the fence, this is one upgrade that’s worth every penny. It adds comfort, hygiene, and a bit of everyday luxury that makes a surprising difference. Your buns will thank you!

This toilet is so cool! It has so many features. Interesting design looks very sleek and modern. Not the easiest installation but still doable. Overall great product
