New Jersey Licensed Contractor here doing $100K bathroom remodels. I LOVE so many products from Kohler and working and installing them is a real pleasure, but this $3000 faulty piece of plastic is not up to Kohler name and standards. Please Kohler, you can do better. Tomorrow I am going to the home of one of our customers that is complaining about this "Real" whatever thing. How it is possible to have the feeling of a rain from  a 19" x 19" pan when all the water supply passes  through a 3/8" diameter Cooper pipe  AND  is filtered twice (Felt filter, basket filter)? come on!

I have had a real rain shower head admittedly for a number of years, time flies.   While Kohler sent me a replacement head for the original one, it’s never at all worked like it was supposed too.   It’s completely square in the fixture and rain does not come out of half of the array of holes.   The deluge kinda works but deluge it is not.   I had our original installing plumber look at it to no avail.  This was a new construction build and THIS is the most disappointing aspect of our build.   Before I trash it, I thought I’d reach out to you for help.  You guys got videos from us after we had it about a year.  It’s gonna be a big project to change it out so I hope you can provide some guidance.   The head has been cleaned per your instructions.

Real Rain Shower Problem

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT buy this shower panel unless you want to be utterly disappointed. We are trying to finish up an extremely expensive and extensive bathroom remodel. I went to our local Kohler dealer and explained what I was looking for in a rain shower. I wanted something big to drench me in water and cover my whole body- but was hoping for a ceiling mount. The sales lady listened to what I wanted and said Kohler makes this amazing ceiling mount rain shower head. They didn't have one in stock, but she assured me it is exactly what I wanted. This Kohler rep had my full confidence and I was excited as she seemed to know exactly what I wanted! I was buying all my Kohler plumbing from her and was excited about what my new bathroom would feature! I would have my very own spa shower and I couldn't wait to use it! Unfortunately,  I bought her sales pitch hook, line and sinker. It was installed yesterday and last night I was playing with the very temperamental Anthem+ controller - it took hours to connect to my phone app. Around 10:00 last night I turned on the shower head thinking I couldn't wait to take a shower under this impressive looking unit. To my absolute horror, water only drips out. I googled what I was talked into buying by this used car salesman and quickly realized this is exactly how it functions....little tiny drops of water that will not be adequate to rinse soap off your body let alone shampoo in your hair. I literally dropped to my knees and cried all night long. How I was suckered into this product is beyond me. I admittedly took the sales lady's words at face value and believed she was helping me buy the best product for my new shower. She probably is just laughing all the way to the bank with her commission. The original shower head I wanted from Kohler was a fraction of the price of this piece of junk. I just read a review that someone used this in their steam shower...ok... I can see that while taking a steam shower this would be nice - but not as an everyday shower. Now I get to spend thousands removing it and putting a functional shower head in its place. Boy, do I feel suckered! Anyone who tries to sell this to you as a daily functional shower head, you better do your research before you hand out your credit card.I am so disappointed in Kohler for creating this product and the Kohler rep who talked it up. But I am most disappointed in myself for not doing my homework.

Buyer Beware!!!!

We did a complete renovation of our master bathroom and was introduced to this "Real Rain" shower panel by our designer.  The thing has not worked correctly since it was professionally installed, reinspected, troubleshot, and troubleshot AGAIN and AGAIN!  The wall mounted button did not operate from the start (getting stuck in or out and not making a change to anything going on with the panel).  There was no deluge feature at all and not all of the holes had water dripping from them.  When I turn on water I get cold water dripping on me from the Real Rain (while it is NOT selected) while warm water is coming out of the other shower head   I never have great luck rinsing out shampoo with rain heads so thank goodness we have a standard shower head.  This issue has had Kohler support via phone and video plus the qualified plumber scratching their heads for HOURS over many days.
2 months of people coming in and out of our house attempting to get this thing to work as advertised.  We are so disappointed in this product.

Agree with all of the negative reviews

This is not a showerhead. It will not rinse shampoo out of your hair. It is an amazing relaxing experience where you feel like raindrops are hitting you. I love it - it is a very light sprinkle and feels just relaxing.

Wonderful rain experience

My husband got this shower for our new bathroom. It was installed by professional plumbers, and we were deeply disappointed in this shower functionality. This is nothing even close to “real rain”. Water is not  dripping  across all shower head area and it keep dripping water for 5 min after water completely shut off. This is not what you expect when you paid $2k for shower.

Cool Overpriced shower which doesn’t work as rain at all

In renovating our home in California, we thought we had picked a perfect rain shower only to find out it was a tremendously expensive mistake!  This shower is not what we expected or wanted and is so finicky to use. We tried to like it but to no avail. We even asked our house guest what they thought and all of them politely said they hated it. The deluge is what we want, not the light trickle that doesn’t even wash the soap off our bodies or shampoo out of our hair…but the deluge ink lasts a few seconds and then you have to wait as shampoo gets into your eyes!  Then everyone thinks it’s broken because it takes 5 minutes to turn off!!!  Would not recommend!  Save your thousands $$$!!!

Big mistake!

Bought this rain shower for our brand new home and completely regret it. The rain function is a sprinkle at best and the “deluge” function hasn’t worked since installation. This product is not as marketed.  Plumbers have worked on it and a Kohler rep came out as well and said this is how it's supposed to be.  I cannot believe that because if this is the way it's supposed to function - it's a COMPLETE piece of JUNK.  And it cost over $2,000-  I just want my money back at this point and get a different shower. Do not buy this!

Terrible Product. Complete wast of Money.

This looked awesome in the showroom and we were excited for it. We were misled. The rain function is a sprinkle and the “deluge” function hasn’t worked since installation over a month ago. Wish we had done better research and not gotten sucked in to the marketing.  This piece is not as it is marketed. Hasn’t worked properly. “Rain” is a sprinkle at best. Plumbers have replaced malfunctioning part (deluge cycle only 4 seconds long) and it still isn’t working. Kohler has not been very responsive. And unfortunately even if it is working properly, it will not be what we expected. Built a new house with 3 full and 2 half baths - almost all Kohler. Wish we weren’t so brand loyal on this.
