So far it works well, but can't catch hair and makes it not totally smooth on bottom of the tub, but visually nice and so far works well. Maybe there is a way to make it work for catching hair, but haven't figured it out yet.

Nice drain, but a bit overpriced for a pvc shoe. No other option though.

Clearflo Slotted overflow bath drain - Polished Chrome

I just got done installing this kit with the tub and man it’s difficult.  

First, the overflow drain screws had nothing to bite into, there were no threads in the housing and there wasn’t a brass or plastic insert in there.  I had to McGuiver up some threads using some PVC glue and a few drywall anchors.  This is absolutely unacceptable quality for this brand and st this price point.  This is a critical fitting.  If I had time I would go get a replacement, but I didn’t.  

Secondly the slot drain does not allow a snake to enter like a normal tub overflow, so great we got to add one in the overflow pipe.  Annoying, but I was able to do that.  

This it is all glue pvc so no wiggle room for installation.  I had a difficult access panel to work thru to make final drain connection so I just had to syke myself up and glue all like 8 pieces perfectly and measure and cut everything perfectly.     I wasn’t able to pre-assemble the tub and drop it in, I had to make connections with the tub in place.   

I’d give this a 1 star except for the fact that I’m hopeful I was flawless in my install and it won’t leak and hopefully it’ll last a long time in use. I’ll test it tomorrow and if it leaks I’m going to jump out a window.  

Terrible experience installing this though.  Really disappointed with Kohler quality and design.   The overflow drain could be slightly larger to accommodate a snake, the threads should have an insert or be machined in.   There should be some thought given to final connection.  The drain itself and the overflow don’t have to protrude so much from the body of the tub to make it such a pain to install. 

The icing on the cake was the stupid serial number label that doesn’t come off and leaves goo all under the overflow drain

Seriously disappointed in Kohler

We selected the drain kit to accompany the tub purchase. The installers had no issues with the use of this item. My only issue is with the finish of the overflow drain cover being chrome instead of nickel. Not a big issue just a minor annoyance.
